MPZ exporting fail

Postby Cliffy » 2018-03-06 4:47

Hi,

A new issue has appeared when attempting to export MPZ format. error message "Exporting Failed. Sorry but failed exporting data. [Update data failed]"

Error occurs exporting to both iCloud and documents.

This is only related to MPZ.. other export formats work fine.

Map Plus version is latest (2.6.12.3) IOS is also current (11.2.5[15D60])

Please help. Thanks in advance

Please check if the disk(flash) space is full on the device? or please try to export a smaller amount of data, for example, just exporting a single point or line, and check again?

If it still failes, please go to Settings > Scroll down to the bottom > Contact Us > Issue Report, which would send us an error.log file for analyze.

After more investigation, this issue is limited to a few layers and feature classes which were actually created on another ipad running the same version of Map Plus.

So an MPZ containing multiple layers and feature classes was created on ipad 1. The MPZ was then imported onto ipad 2. Now ipad 2 can export some layers and feature classes as MPZ but not others??

Any ideas? and would you like me to send an issue report?

Really sorry but we could not get any useful cue from the limited information.

Would you mind making a .mpr backup file and send it to us.

If there is no concern about your data privacy and data scale is not so large, you can backup the whole app data on the iPhone/iPad with merged data, you can do that in the app's Settings > Backup And Restore > Create New Backup.

Otherwise, backup current data first, then delete some layers/classes, check to ensure the issue still exists, then back up the smaller data again, and send the new backup file to us.

Sample files or further feedback could be sent to zax@duweis.com. If the file is too big, you can upload it to dropbox, and just send us the link url.

Hi Zax,

Yes the data was a large set and sensitive. I have solved the issue by creating a backup and loading onto new iPad. From that point I could export in MPZ.

Thanks for your help with this.
